The 2019 Law of Life Summit – Beyond Roe was held in Washington, D.C., on January 17. Over 200 guests attended the intimate setting. Programming included rapid-fire short talks by national pro-life leaders such as Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life of America; Lauren Muzyka, Executive Director of Sidewalk Advocates for Life, Reggie Littlejohn, President of Women’s Rights Without Frontiers and many more incredible speakers. See the 2019 Program here.
A new media and film session was introduced where trailers for upcoming flicks were shared to guests. Film producers Sean Bloomfield and Cimela Kidonakis from Stella Mar Films showed the trailer for their new movie Where There Is Darkness – a story of a murdered priest who saved his killer from the death penalty.
Nick Loeb and Cathy Beckerman, writers and directors of the forthcoming Roe v. Wade Movie also made an appearance and discussed their upcoming film. Nick Loeb told the audience this movie will be different from past pro-life movies because of the multi-million dollar marketing budget planned for its release. The trailer can be viewed here.
Thomas More Society hosted an incredible panel discussion: Defending Life: From the Sidewalks up to the U.S. Supreme Court. In addition to their planned speakers (see here) special guests included attorney Martin Cannon and David Daleiden.
Americans United For Life capped off the Beyond Roe Summit with a stunning panel of national pro-life experts. See the speaker list here.
Finally guests enjoyed snacks and coffee along with fellowship before and after the program concluded.
Disturbingly – shortly after the Summit an insidious spirit seems to be creeping its way into state houses. We are witnessing a resurgence of state legislation designed to sure up abortion rights at the state level. This trend includes proposed laws for late term abortions which are arguably among the most barbaric of procedures. The question what happens Beyond Roe – is clear. The fight to end abortion in the USA will return to the states. In the words of Abby Johnson – we don’t just want to make abortion illegal – we should make “abortion unthinkable.”
Stay tuned for a very important virtual Law of Life Summit to be announced soon in response to this coming crisis.
